When I first started my Nurse training, I gave a guy who was HIV + an Intramuscular injection, it sounds crazy but for months after, I was obsessed that some how I had contracted the virus, even though I was not actually exposed to it! I went and had a HIV test and of course it came back as negative; then a few weeks later I had a headache, instead I became obsessed it was a brain tumor, until one of the Doctors said go by all means and have a MRI scan, but what else will it be next week!? And at that point I knew it was all in my head!.!.in my case it was just because I had just started my degree and was studying hard for my exams, not getting enough sleep and all of a sudden being around all these new illnesses and diseases!. I could be WAY off the mark here but you haven't actually given a reason why you think you have HIV!? You used protection, you can't assume you have contracted it every time you have sex!? HIV isn't THAT common!? Could you be just worrying because you read something somewhere!? It is common that after exposure to HIV approx 14 days later you may develop viral symptoms, HOWEVER we contract many virus's a year!.!.!.it could just be a coincidental virus, some we don't even know we have!? Don't put yourself through the emotional turmoil of having this test if your not certain there is a risk!.!.!.it is a 6 month wait till you get the all clear from the date you last had sex with this guy!.

The initial primary infection with HIV usually, ( but not always) occurs 2 weeks after contact and is often accompanied by a rash!. Once you have got it in to your head you might have HIV however it is not going to go away until you have a negative STD screen which includes an HIV test!. Best go to a GUM clinic and get it over with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HIV doesn't really have symptoms, that's how so many people don't realize they have it!

It's true you sometimes feel a bit flu-y shortly after contracting it, but it doesn't go on and on for weeks!. I wouldn't worry too much, but you can easily get tested to put your mind at ease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You know what for peace of mind go have a HIV test done!. You are past the window period and IF you have been using condoms I don't think there is a lot to worry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt it if you have HIV but you should still get tested to put your mind at ease, it's the only way you will know for sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only way to find out is get a blood test doneWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, its not hiv!. The flu would have happened within 2 or 3 months, for 99% of people its within 2 weeks after having sex, but in rare cases takes a little longer!. If its been 6 months and this is the first time you got sick like this in 6 months, theres no way that its hiv!. The flu like symptoms occur because this is the period they call seroconversion, when your body is producing antibodies to try to fight off the hiv infection!. Most standard hiv tests look for these antibodies in your blood!. Standard hiv tests are 99% reliable after the 3 month window period and in very rare cases, after 6 months!. You say its been 6 months, theres no possible way you are just seroconverting now!. That would mean you are like 1 in a million because its unheard of that people would seroconvert after 3 months or test negative after 6 months!. No you do not have hiv!. You get these aches and you get tired because you are worrying about it so much and stressing yourself out thinking about it!. Same thing happened to me!. Im an insomniac, so I can normally go 2 days without even sleeping, but during the time I thought I had hiv, I kept getting sick and couldnt stand up or keep my eyes open most of the time!. I would sleep for 14 hours a day!.!.!.!.!.this was all because of anxiety/stress!. I kept worrying about it and it was destroying my immune system!. Stop worrying about it!. Its free to get tested so find a free std clinic and get tested if you are still worried about it, but Im 100% sure you dont have it!. Most people who have hiv dont start feeling symptoms until at least 1 year after contracting it, so even if you did get the flu like symptoms 2 weeks after infection, and then you felt sick again 2 weeks ago!.!.!.!.the sickness 2 weeks ago and now is not hiv related!. Its very easy for you to get a viral infection right now because you are stressing alot!. Just go get tested if you are still worried!. I went through all this a year ago and got tested and was in the clear but now, a year later I was having skin problems and I found out that the type of hiv I was at risk of getting was a different type (subtype-e, because I was in Thailand) and it takes a little longer to show up(theres probably only about 10 people total in usa that have this so I know you dont have this type) and I was having skin problems and started freaking out again and causing myself to have symptoms all over again so I took another test today, took 20 minutes with a "rapid" test or you can take a elisa test and wait a week!. Either way, im sure it will be negative!. I thought Rihannas answer was funny because I went through the whole brain tumor thing too!.!.!.stress and thinking about things will give you all kinds of "serious" symptoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
