Help with palpitations?!

Question: Help with palpitations!?
I've been having dream palpitations,The first time was about four days ago and was at exactly 1:00!. I had no dream before, I just woke up with rapid heart beat, or palputations and they lasted for about 20 minutes!. The second time was last night and I woke up exactly at 4:00 and this time I did have a dream before and it was a dream that played out my heart beats!. In the dream I fainted in my old kitchen and had super duper fast palputations and died in the dream only to wake up in my bed with my racing unnatural heartbeat which also lasted for about 20 minutes or less!.I drink enough, I don't eat alot but I eat!. I am 16, 5"3, and weigh 100 pounds!. My question is about the dream I had last night!. Right now I am trying to find out the reason I get palpitations and am confused as ever!. I have no idea if it's stress because the first time I woke up and had them I had no dream or thought, and the second time was that I dreampt it and it became real!. I get palpitations alot and at random timWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Palpitations can have several different causes and may represent different patterns of heart beat!. A 24 hour Holter Monitor or a transient arrhythmia monitor would be the best way to discern what is happening with your heart when you are feeling the abnormality!. Possibilities include Sinus Tachycardia (an exaggeration of the normal rhythm), Atrial Tachycardia (in which the rhythm is emanating from a different site in the heart than the norm), Atrial Flutter, and Atrial Fibrillation!. The latter three rhythms may require medication or even a surgical procedure to prevent their recurrence, because they often entail some "faulty wiring" in the heart's electrical system!. Sinus tachycardia occurring in sleep is often due to increased "adrenalin" levels which may be triggered by a dream!. You may awaken from a dream and not even remember that you were dreaming!. Conversely, the onset of an arrhythmia may trigger a dream about the arrhythmia!.

You did not mention whether you use any "recreational" drugs or if you consume significant quantities of caffeine!. These, too, can trigger cardiac arrhythmias!.

In summary, the events you hare having may be simple and benign or may represent a serious heart arrhythmia!. I would advise you to see your doctor and request a referral to a cardiologist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
