Question: Why do u think black teens make up 69% of HIV!?
i just saw on the news that ther's gonna be free HIV testing in the City of Watts in California (for those who dont know this area its the ghetto and majority blacks live there) why is it so high, do they not care or what!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Black teens do NOT make up 69% of cases in Los Angeles County!. Blacks overall make up about 24% of HIV and AIDS cases, and teens are a much smaller fraction of this (the data show that people tend to pick up HIV in their early 20s)!.

We know why STD and HIV rates are so high in Watts (and all of South LA)!. It boils down to these factors:
1!. Lack of education, so people don't know how to prevent the spread of HIV!.
2!. Incarceration (yes, bad stuff does happen in jails)!.
3!. "Being on the down-low," young black men have secretly sex with men, get HIV and then pass it to their girlfriends and wives!.
4!. Poverty, not having the resources to deal with the problem, not able to afford health care!.
I am willing to bet that people do care about HIV and AIDS, but the rates remain high because some folks feel resigned to their HIV fate, meaning if they don't have it yet, they figure they'll get it eventually!. And I think people have so much going on in their lives (what with gang problems, poverty and so forth) that HIV has to be de-prioritized in favor of more pressing matters like getting dinner on the table!.
If the high rates of HIV in the black community bother you, then I encourage you to get involved!. There are a lot of organizations that operate aorund South LA to help educate people about HIV, to ecourage people to get tested and so forth!. It is a statistical fact that 73% of all statistics and surveys are made up!.!.!. including this statistic!.
I'm suspicious of your percentage!.!.!.!.!. but I'm curious, 69% of all HIV in the US or all the HIV in the world!? I could actually believe the 69% statistic if this is supposed to include all HIV cases in the world!. Why!? Because HIV is RAMPANT in Africa, and last I knew blacks are the majority of African residents!. Therefore, such a thing would make sense!.
