Can liver disease cause diabetes?!

Question: Can liver disease cause diabetes!?
* My mother died this year from complications of liver disease and she told me it was genetic!.

* Last week I was diagnosed with diabetes!. I'm not sure which type (I'm 24 yrs old and I'm overweight!.) the doctor said it didn't matter which type because she would treat me the same either way!.

* Today I called my doctor's nurse about testing my liver functions!. She told me when they sent my blood for testing my liver functions were also tested and there were some abnormalities!.!.!.though not anything that would "flag the doctor"!.

* If it is important to know my A1C is 12 !.

If anyone could grace me with their knowledge I would be very appreciative!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It definitely matters!. Type 2 can be controlled through diet and exercise, the meds sometimes just compound the problems!. Get Atkins Diabetes Revolution!.!.!.you can definitely control diabetes with that diet!. The ADA diet will let you get worse you need a lot tighter control than that diet will allow you!. There is SO MUCH to learn that they won't tell you, you have to be your own advocate and don't just rely on the docs because they don't always have all the latest info!.

Diabetes can cause kidney damage, but I've never heard of liver damage from diabetes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Liver disease does not cause diabetes!.
Your diabetes is in very bad shape!.This could be the cause of any liver problems!.
Your doctor is an IDIOT! Get a new doctor now!.
You need an endocrinologist not a gp!.

It is important to know what type of diabetes you have!.There are different treatments for each type!.
Good luck with a new doctor and loads of information you need to know!.It all takes time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
