Regular medication is one of the ways to manage asthma!. Asthma reduces the amount of air allowed into the lungs, both by bronchoconstriction caused by a trigger, and by inflammation!. It is necessary to minmize both for the best results!. Your son will need both an inhaled steroid, and an emergency inhaler!. He may also do better if treated with things like Singulair, which minimzes a part of the allergic reaction, and antihistamines and even desensitization shots!. It is also necessary for him to maintain a healthy weight (thinner is better than any obesity), exercise regularly, and stay entirely away from smokers!. Removing your carpet and putting down some type of hard floor will also help!. Your son should stay inside in the air conditioning (filtered air) if he has plant or outdoor allergies!. If you are not asthmatic, you do not understand how frightening it can be to your child to suffer an attack!. Don't play around with so-called natural "remedies" because they don't work!. Many are plants, those with "hay fever" can even be allergic to the remedy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My son has allergy induced asthma, ( he`s severely allergic to dust mites and dog dander)!. I constantly vaccum the house and put plastic covers on all his bedding, he also has hardwood flooring in his room!. But I can`t control his outside enviroment, sometimes he has to use puffers and nasal steriods!. It depends on what kind of asthma your child has!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
