Go to the drugstore, and buy zanfel poison ivy wash!. It removes the "urushiol oil", which is a substance in the poison ivy that clings to the skin and doesn't wash off well with regular soap!. When you touch someone with poison ivy, you get some of the urushiol on you, and that's what causes the rash to be transferable!.
Not everyone is sensitive to urushiol, so unless you've had a poison ivy rash before, you don't know for sure whether you are sensitive or not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Poison Ivy is no longer contagious once the oil is washed from the skin!. If your father has had a shower and used soap, he's safe!. Just make sure he washed his clothes or bed sheets if he touched them after coming into contact with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Honey it is contagious until it goes away!. it will take more than a kiss to catch it!. Also it is not so serious , It is soooooooo easy to get rid of!. Yes it is itchy but if u catch it fast it is not so bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
