Question: Best over the counter drug for a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) !?!?
So I have to pee in small amounts multiple times an hour all around the clock and it does not hurt!. Just annoys me!. I have no health insurance and I am pretty sure I have a UTI so I want to get something over the counter!. Any suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a potential problem in waiting!. A small number of episodes of cystitis ascend up the ureters to the kidneys!. Here they cause pyelitis or pyelo-nephritis, which is more serious and may scar and permanently damage the kidney!. An even smaller number result in bacteria entering the blood stream and case septicaemia, which is potentially very dangerous!. This means that urine infections are one of the few situations I would always suggest an antibiotic sooner rather than later!. There are a number of over the counter drugs, these mainly rely on changing the acidity of the urine and have a significant fail rate!. Thus if you do take them you are still taking a risk!.
In the mean time drink plenty of clear fluids, the cranberry juice thing is an urban myth that refuses to die, despite overwhelming evidence that it is little better than plain water!

You probably have cystitis!. A UTI, more often than not, hurts and hurts bad!. I'm all for natural and DIY remedies, and you can try these, in case you really do have a UTI!. Alka-Seltzer is one!. Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms!. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly -- even though the product was never been advertised for this use!. If there is a health food store near you, buy a box each of Cornsilk and Uva Ursi teas!. Drink a cup of tea made with one bag of each, twice a day!. Azo is a concentrated form of cranberry juice!. That with lots of water work really good!. You urine may turn red that is normal!. If it is a mild infection is should help!. If it a major infection you will need to go to the doctor for antibiotics, unless you live close the Mexican border!. You can get antibiotics there without a prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
