I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant you need to burn some calories, if you are able to take a walk around the block, it you are unable to move sit in a chair and lift your legs up and down!. Use a can of soup and do curls with your arms!. Limit your snacks to cheese and milk and stay away from oranges and orange juice this will spike your sugar!. If you have slow acting insulin it will come down at a slower rate but if you are using fast acting insulin and if it is not down by morning call your doctor you may need to increase your about of insulin used!. Don't panic your high but your not in the big danger zone!. Listen to your body for what it wants to eat just stay away from anything with sugar in it for the rest of the day!. I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, calm down hun!. Stress will only raise your blood sugar!. A reading of 140 is something I would kill for!. If you are really concerned about it, then you should stop snacking for a while (just for an hour or so!.) and give yourself another dose of correction insulin!. If your doctor did not tell you what your correction dose is, 1 unit of insulin for every fifty points that you are over is usually where they start you off at!. Give a correction and wait fifteen minutes, just like you are waiting for a low glucose reading to go up!. Test again!. If you are still not down, dont worry!. Wait ten more minutes and test again!. If you are still not down by this point, give another correction for what yuo are then!. Dont over do it though!. If you give too much, you could drop severly overnight and it is very hard to corect a low when you are still half asleep!. :)
In all reality, for most diabetics, 140 is average!. I know my range is 90-150!. If this keeps happening and you are VERY concerned about, that would be the time to stray from Yahoo answers results and talk to your doctor!. It may be normal for you as well!. Good luck keeping your sugars in checkWww@Answer-Health@Com

At this point, don't try to correct it!. 140 is a bit high, but it's not dangerous!. Go for a walk, or do a quick 'chair workout' if you can't walk!. Other than that!.!. calm down and try not to stress!.

Wait until your next meal, test before the meal, and if it's still high take HALF of a unit extra before the meal- no more!.

Re-dosing before then can make you drop dangerously low and is a bad, bad idea!. If you keep running high, call your doctor to adjust your insulin dose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your stress level could be affecting it!. Eat something sugar-free and drink water!. Also calm down, 140 really isn't that bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Drink more water, this will help you to lower your blood sugar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

eat cinnamon supplements!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
