My son just had a brain scan after a concussion, and all was normal except for this resultWww@Answer-Health@Com

Whew! That is what you want to see on an xray! Sorta!.
Artifact, when talking about radiology, is an imperfection in the picture!. If your son moved, if the film got exposed, or something like that, they would call it an artifact!. The reason the physician who interpretted the image made a note of that is because they are required to describe EVERYTHING they see that may be out of the norm!.

A small artifact means that it is a flaw (either on the Xray cartridge or the machine or the patient moved) which caused a result to appear on the scan that is most likely not clinically significant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
