28 yr old female, had an echo done, results showed a mass of somekind!.!.!.!.so scared, they said it wuld be unlikely a tumor-but more likely an artifact!? - any information you could give will be higly appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pretty common, in practice anything on the cardiogram is a graphic representation of something!. The doctor is still just interpreting and making a guess!. I get annoyed at Doc that don't explain everything and use jargon like "artifact"!.

I'm a little unclear - an EKG cannot detect a tumor, only electrical activity!. Artifact is activity that shows on the EKG which is from the patient moving around and it's pretty easy to distinguish from electrical activity!. An infarct (as in a myocardial infarction or a heart attack) is a blockage or breakage in the vasculature that cuts off blood supply to a part of the heart tissue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
