Question: Friends Pinworms!?
My friend has told me she has pinworms she is too frightened to tell her parents, is there any harm!. What advice should I give her!.

Pinworms are highly contagious, so she needs to be treated! All she needs is ONE pill, ONE time!. Pinworms are not normally dangerous, but they should be treated!.
Here is an easy way to handle the situation:
Have her tell her parents that another kid at school had pinworms, and they are recommending that the other kids go to their doctors and take the pill just in case!.
Other option: Go to the school nurse and talk to her!. Sometimes school nurses have those pills on hand!.
There's nothing to be embarrassed about!. If she doesn't trust her parents, perhaps there is another adult that she could tell that she does trust!? The pill to treat pinworms is very safe and easy!. Sometimes pediatricians will just phone them into a pharmacy and you don't even need to go in to see the doctor at all!
