Question: How do you get a keliod!?
i think i have a small one in my left ear in my second ear hole i got it pierced april 4 2008!. and i am scared to take it out to clean it cause i dont wan't it to get bigger will it get bigger if i take it out to clean outWww@Answer-Health@Com

Some people just heal that way!. There is not any way to know if you will have a keloid or not until you have a scar!. Once you have the scar, it shouldn't get bigger because you take out the piercing to clean since it's already healed!. Some times a surgeon can remove the keloid, but you might form a keloid again!. I've seen all color's or people have surgery and you never know who will or won't have keloids!. Most heal nicely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Keloiding is, in part, related to the amount of melanin in your skin; the darker your skin, the better you generally keloid!. That's part of the reason why light skinned people have historically stuck to tattooing and dark skinned people have stuck to scarification (plus scarification shows up better than tattoos on dark skin)!. People who are genetically prone to keloids can pretty much leave their fresh scarification alone and be left with large, even raised, keloids, whereas other people will need to artificially irritate the wound in order to have it raise!.
Keloid scars always extend well past the edges of the original wound/scar and tend to be darker in colour than hypertrophic scars!.
Keloids are best avoided by minimizing the source of irritation (ie!. taking out the piercing or changing the jewelry)!. That said, many people describe success with a variety of folk remedies (although it's important to note that many people misinterpret forms of hypertrophic scarring or even things like boils as keloids)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some people just heal with scar tissue very quickly and even simple cuts or scrapes can leave huge scars!.
I have seen mostly blacks that heal with keloids (that may sound racist but as a white guy!.!.!.I haven't seen white guys keloid)!.!.!.I even remember in college!.!.!.one black fraternity would cut their greek letter into their should and it wopuld heal (keloid) like a tattoo!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
