Green pool, any health concerns?!

Question: Green pool, any health concerns!?
Our neighbors are renters, for years even when the home owner lived there allowed the inground pool to turn and remain green like anti freeze!. Since the warm weather, the renters fill the pool, within 3 weeks or so, it turns green and stinks- they drain it and refill it, this is the 4th time in the past 2 months they have drained and refilled it!. Is there anyone we can call besides the township about this!? My daughter and I both have had sinus issues, headaches, fatique and at times nausea when our windows are open!. We have the air conditioning on now and feel fine!. I think we are getting sick from that pool next door, in addition we have had mosquito issues as well!. now that they have once again drained it, to call the health dept would be no good, we could really use some suggestions please!.
Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Contact the home owner AND the rental agency and tell them you will sue them if you get no result from your requests!. Your requests should be : install a pool filtration system (every pool has a skimmer box and a pool vacuum system can be attached and it needs to be run 6-8 hours a DAY) and have regular (every month) pool samples taken and appropriate chemicals thrown in!.
Tell them this maintenance is cheaper and less time consuming then emptying and filling a pool multiple times!. A pool does NOT need emptying other than for resurfacing the interior lining!
Push the issue!. It is bad neighbour-ship, bad pool ownership (a rental agreement specifies you need to look after the pool) and a waste of water!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call the Environmental Protection Agency!. Go here to find the agency near you http://www!.epa!.gov/epahome/comments2!.htm

Tell them that they need to buy Chlorine for the pool to kill the germs on a daily basis!. And right when they fill the pool, add a thing called "Shock" it prepares the pool and kills all bacteria!.

WARNING: Entering Shock will prevent you from swimming for a couple of days!. Be very CAUTIOUS because it burns your skin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In moost states, the state department of health, not the EPA is the enforcing agency when it comes to pools, but they have little jurisdiction when it comes to private pools!. The mosquito issue is a huge problem with the entry of West Nile into our midst and the EPA and state, county and city health departments should be contacted!.

It is obvious that your neighbors haven't a clue as to how to maintain chemical balance in a pool!.

The "Shock" mentioned above is simply a more concentrated version of calcium hypochlorite (standard chlorinating chemical)!. Yet shock treatment for a pool is nothing without adequate filtration!. Chlorine simply oxidizes and kills any organic matter, but the dead remnants will remain in the pool and need to be filtered out of the water!. If the filter is not cleaned and or elements replaced, the inert matter will adhere to the pool sides and bottom and if chlorine levels are not maintained, algea will bloom and recreate the whole mess!.

Yet your best course of action is to report this problem to as many agencies as possible as it is a real health issue!.

City code enforcement, state health department, epa!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
