Question: I have shingles! from reading answers I get this information!.!.!?
1!. Acyclovir is going to give me cancer!. I am taking a massive dose, 800mg 5 times a day for 5 days!. So!.!.!. I am cooked!.
2!. Acyclovir will not stop it from coming back!.
3!. Acyclovir will not work!.
4!. So, answers tells me I am killing myself (and other who take it also) right!.
5!. this is scarey stuff you guys, we need someone that really knows about this to give some thoughtful insight to this problem!.
My question is why then must I take it!? Quiet frankly, I do feel better today, my 3rd day on it!. The burning is much more toloralable and managable!.
My next question is this!. How the heck to you avoid this stuff!. It figgin hurt you guys!?!.

They do have a shingles vaccine but I'm not sure how effective it is!. My parents just received a dose at their last physical!. I'm not sure of any other ways to prevent it!.
With that said, a few remedies I know of are: crush two aspirin (make sure aspirin is ok with your meds or your health history) and make a paste with 2 tbsp!. rubbing alcohol!. Dab paste on lesions!. I'm kind of a nervous nelly with medication so I would double check with doc or pharmacy if this would be ok considering your health history and other meds!. You can also try vitamin E oil, gel from Aloe Vera, or fresh leeks ground up in a food processer!. Dab onto lesions!.

Where do you get the idea that acyclovir will give you cancer!? Maybe one person got cancer in some study, so they have to list it as a possible side effect!. You are not going to get cancer!. Don't panic!. You sound like an excitable person!. That's usually good, but not in this case!. Calm down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Shingles comes from the chicken pox virus!.!. I had an uncle with it and friend of the family!. They survived for a long time!.

THIS IS A NASTY TYPE SKIN ILL SAY RASH TAKEN A WARM BATH HELPS ALOT!.!.The med you take is to help with the pain and discomfort also shortens the time and prevents the spread!. There is no cure for this sorry!
You have to take meds to help you If don't this can and will get out of control and cause you to have a severe case of shingles It can lead to blindness and hearing loss!.
Come from the virus varicella-zoster(same virus that causes chicken poxs) I hope you get to feeling better soon My dad had this and was in so much pain so I can relate to this for you!. You should ask doctor for a different med with less side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
