Well, no one knows how long someone will live !. !. even the doctors!. Probably his doctors are basing their 'prognosis' on his current condition !. !. right at the moment!. That's what they usually do !. !. because they don't have a crystal ball!. So, they will tell a patient exactly what his current condition is !. !. now !. !. if he is given treatment and he responds to that treatment significantly !. !. than the doctors will change their prognosis! We saw it happen all the time !. !. sometimes they will say that the cancer is inoperable !. !. well, at that moment in time !. !.it might be !. !. but with treatment and good response !. !. suddenly that patient becomes operable!. So !. !. you don't necessarily have to listen to the doctors !. !. they don't always know!. My son was diagnosed at 17 with advanced cancer and literally hundreds of metastasis throughout the abdominal cavity!. At first the doctors were grim but they always gave us hope!. He was inoperable for the first three months, but he responded so well to treatment that he became a candidate for three surgeries!. He did very well for three years and even had an 8 month remission, but eventually his cancer progressed and we lost him a few months ago!.

If your friend wants to fight her cancer than she needs to gather as much information as possible !. !. and quickly!. One of the best ways to do that is to seek out others with the same disease, stage, and grade of tumor!. You can try the ACOR elist groups:

ACOR: Mailing Lists - Support Groups

You can look for specific information in relation to the disease from the ASCO website (American Society of Clinical Oncology)!.

The National Cancer Institute

National Comprehensive Cancer Network

You can also check with the comprehensive cancer centers and seek out a second or third opinion!. These are considered the best cancer centers in the US and are often the leaders in research and the newest treatments:

They don't!.!.!.!. If I had 15 days left to live why would I do chemo!? Cancer is a disease but it is also a state!. It grows in places that are rich with blood supply like organs and such!. What cancer does is grow and invade our body and essentially crowd us out of it!. It takes away all of our nutrients and oxygen and energy!.

Yes we can tell when people are in the final stages of cancer thru blood work and assessment

I would eat and eat well!. Eat veggies and fish and relax!. There's a saying and I don't know the origin - Live every day like you will live forever and live that same day like it is your lastWww@Answer-Health@Com

It's because the cancer is so advanced that the doctors expect he has very little time left!. It happened with a family member and a neighbor of mine!. If they don't find it at an early stage and begin treatment right then and there, chances will go down and down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
