Question: I have one kidney - my creatine level as of today is 54 - what can i expect for my future!?
I lost my left kidney due to an obstruction in the vein - that was a year ago!. Now with one kidney I am concerned due to the creatine level - my doctor says that we will test every three monts, and if the number drops to 50 we will have to decide what to do!. What the hell does that mean!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's not your creatinine level (thank God) but your creatinine clearance, the best measure of renal function (gold standard)!. I really wouldn't worry about 54 (mls/min) function for one kidney !.!.!.don't change your lifestyle, drink lots of fluids, and get your SERUM creatinine checked every 6 months!.
If your serum creatine (a blood test) remains reasonable, there's no need for further 24 hour urine collections (if that was even done!.)!.since the level was probably derived from the blood creatinine)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I feel very bad for you, and have not come across this problem!. Have you tried googling this condition, or gone into any of the online medical sites!? They can be very enlightening, and informative!.
I cannot imagine that this stress is going to do you much good, so you could try getting a bit more info from your doctor!. I sincerely hope you will be able to cope and not get any worse!. Try and think the best, and think yourself better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
