When I had gestational diabetes I could eat what I wanted as long as I counted carbs and didn't go over the amount I was supposed to have for each meal or snack!.

I don't see why you couldn't have it, just don't go over the carbs you're supposed to have!.

And don't eat it all the time !.!.!. the doctor probably said no corn tortillas because you need nutrients from other types of carbs too!. He may have been afraid that the tortillas would keep you from eating other things that your body (and your baby) needs!.

But my best advice to you in the beginning is to stick to things that are filling so you don't overeat!. I was always hungry at first, but I adjusted after a week or two!. And after a month it didn't bother me much at all!.

And start exercising !.!.!. walks are good!. When you exercise, your body burns sugar which means you can have MORE FOOD, lol !.!.!. I would go for a 2 mile walk and come home and have something that I really craved as a reward!.

And the exercise helps control your blood sugar overall !.!.!. after walking every other day for a month I could have a little bit more to eat everyday, even on the days I didn't exercise!.

I'm sure this sounds crazy to someone who hasn't gone through it !.!.!. but being pregnant does make you VERY HUNGRY, trust me, I know :o) Hang in there, your baby is worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You really should be doing your best to eat the right foods for your pregnancy, and yes it means all corn products!.
Your doctor obviously has restricted corn in your diet due to your intolerance to carbohydrates during your pregnancy!.!.!.!.

Try eating fresh fruit and real food!.!.!.fresh! no Hominy!Www@Answer-Health@Com
