Ok so the virus causes all your organs to liquify!. And the lady (that redheaded actress lady from Tin Cup) gets the virus but Dustin Hoffman gets the cure so its assumed she is going to be ok!. But how can your organs resolidify!? I say its total bull shi+Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES, KT!. I can tell you with absolute certainty that the ending of OUTBREAK is as you call it - "total B---s--t" since I worked at the miracle lab mentioned at the end!. In the film, after the virus is isolated and identified, it was immediately shipped off to the lab for the lab to make an overnight antidote which would save the world!. Even if the bad virus was properly identified, and that takes some time, it would be many months before any antidote could be developed and tested in humans for effectiveness, and manufactured in large quantities, and distributed for injection to millions of people!. Of course, organs never "resolidify!." You are right!
What we actually do is try to identify the germ warfare potential of existing known viruses, or bacteria, or other organisms that could be effective in a "war" and then develop vaccines in advance, as we have done for smallpox, typhoid, anthrax, and other bad germs!.
