Question: I've got some intense breathing problems when I exercise, but I don't think it's asthma!?
Whenever I do intense exercise, such as sprinting or playing basketball, I get this extremely painful chest tightness and burning in my throat/bottom of my mouth!. Lately it's been most noticeable when playing basketball!. I also usually get nauseous!.

The strange thing is that today, I played one-on-one with this guy for literally 3 or 4 minutes, probably less!. The "asthma" took hold very quickly, and I couldn't breathe very well plus I really really felt like I was going to throw up!.

The difference today was, apart from the fast onset, that I got lightheaded and dizzy!. It was incredibly strange!. Every color got incredibly bright, almost fluorescent!. If I went in the shade the colors would go back to normal!. I'm guessing this has something to do with the sun!.

I've spoken to a doctor and he said I figured I have asthma, but an albuterol inhaler did not work for me!. Has anybody else had a problem similar to this!? If so, what is it called and what is the cure!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Poor conditioning to start with comes immediately to my mind!! you need to do some warm up stretches before doing anything else!! Always!!!!

You need to build up strength to do things like play basketball one on one or sprint or anything else!.

Heat is the next thing!!! is it extremely hot there!? We don't even wiggle when the heat of the day comes round!! Ever heard of the Land of the Siesta!?!? When the day gets hot, everything stops til it cools back down!.

Along with the heat is the allergens floating around free for all to inhale!! Heat and pollens will kill most people with or without asthma!!

Cure is to slow down, do some stretches before even walking 3 blocks, eat properly, have water handy all times, not iced water either!! And take frequent breaks!! Anyone can build up strength to do whatever they want to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When one gets some intense breathing problems by doing physical works, excesrcises, all the time it may not be asthma!.
It might be some influence of BRONCHITIS!.
BRONCHITIS also create such breathing troubles!.
It is misunderstood to beasthma ,due to troublesome respiratory irritation felt by the patient!.
The root cause of bronchial troubles concern to the resiratory pipe when it gets shrunk than normal, when, proper
amount of oxygen is not recieved in the system!.CHRONIC
BRONCHITIS is most troublesome!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go back to your doctor and tell him about your new symptoms!. It now sounds heart related and this is serious!. Some heart problems are difficult to diagnose, you can have them all your life and not be aware of them, and boom one day you're exercising and you collapse!. Sounds like you are getting a warning here!. Electical problems with your heart or bradycardia are possibilities!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask yourself some questions:
1) Are you eating too close to your workouts!? This can cause the nauseousness and/or burning feeling at the back of your throat!.
2) Are you controlling your breathing!? Hyperventilating can cause the bright lights, feeling like your going to pass out and panting!.

If you can safely rule these out then you need to see another doctor because it could be something else!.

Good luck ?!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

could be acid reflux!. See a gastroenterologist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to take 3 TUMS and 1 puff of albuterol BEFORE exercise!.

When a person has exercise induced asthma, you must take the albuterol before you exercise!. The Tums are of course for what seems to be acid getting up into your esophagus!.

You can find out a lot about your heart by taking your pulse after exercise and see if it's going super fast or has any rhythm problems!. Read up and see how fast your heart should go back to normal after exercise!.

Anyway, if the Tums and albuterol taken before exercise don't work, I guess you should see the doctor again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
