Question: RRT, CRT question for you!!?
How much of the job is neb trx and how much if mech vent!? I am about to go out on my first rotation and I'm just curious!.

I must disagree with mona!. In the area in which I work the Tech schools do require a high school diploma or a GED proir to starting the respiratory therapist training program!. As to the amount of therapy it will depend on the individual institution that you are training at!. If you are lucky you will hook up with a school that has several local hospitals to choose from and are affiliated with so that you can be rotated through out them and see a variety of modalities and skill levels!. It is also nice to see how different hospitals choose to handle things and gives you an edge so that when you graduate you kind of know where you want to apply for a job!. I was lucky in that I had five hospitals, two home care agencies and one pulmonary rehab care center to rotate through!. I had a trully eclectic series of opportunites and experiences!. That all depends on where you end up working!. But it is more nebs that vents in most facilities!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
