Question: Is sex or oral sex safe during chemotherapy!?
My husband is receiving chemotherapy since Jan!. and we have been afraid to have sex or kiss!. Is it safe!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's definitely fine to kiss and cuddle!.
Sex is also safe, but you should use condoms
- your husband's sperm will have traces of the chemo drugs in it and you should not be exposed to the drugs
- for contraception (though of course other methods of contraception are fine too)!. The chemo can damage the sperm, leading to a greater likelihood of embryo damage!. A baby conceived during chemo would worry the medics greatly!.
Oral sex is ok if you stop before he ejaculates!.!.!.!.same reason as the condoms, you should not be exposed to the chemo leftovers in his sperm!.
If he's got the energy and desire for sex, go for it!. Just keep in mind that he's going through a lot physically (and mentally you both)!.!.!.so he may not be able to follow through!.
But I repeat!.!.!.kissing / cuddling is totally safe!. Please go give him a hug and a kiss now :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's usually safe!. It's usually not that fun, some of the drugs can make it a little dry down there and some just kill sex drives!. Oral sex, I told my fiance I would not do during chemo if he wanted it for the rest of his life!. I know it's a weird way of looking at it, but I don't want to get sick off it because my taste buds are all thrown off and my nausea can flare up at any time!.
I've already sworn off McNuggets, Any kind of Burger King burger and cauliflower because of chemo making me sick!.
The only time I would not reccommend!.!.!.if he actually has a drive, is the day of or day after chemo!. Give those poisons a chance to flush!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is ok chemo does kill your sex drive!. but u still have to go on with life!. when u feel good its ok but if u ont feel good just let him know!. u still have to show some emotion!. keep a positive attitude and everything will be ok hang in there
