I just got done studying for the MCAT, but I hate the excretory system, so I decided to help a poor soul like yourself who may hate it also!. The anatomy starting from the urethra and moving up into the body: Opening to the urethra-->urethra-->bladder-->opening to the ureter-->ureter-->kidney renal pelvis

Now for the functions (starting from inside the body and traveling down) Urine is created by the kidney and emptied into the renal pelvis!. The renal pelvis is emptied by the ureter, which carries urine to the bladder!. The bladder is drained by the urethra!. The kidney is the main organ here, the bladder is storage space for urine!. Most of your function occurs in the kidney and the rest are roadways to exit the body!. The kidney excretes waste products, such as urea, uric acid, ammonia, and phosphate; maintains homeostasis, and helps control plasma pH!.

Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

kidneys take blood in from an artery and filters the blood by pulling out fluid and useful substances such as vitamins, glucose, electrolyte salt, amino acids and biocarbonate ions!. then by a reabsorbtion process 99 percent of this filtrate is returned to the bloodstream!.it does a final reabsorbtion before the excess that the body doesnt need is secreted!. these substances include amonia, hydrogen ions potassium ions and drugs!. this is added to urine in a collecting tubule this is lead into the ureters which bring urine to the bladder which is a collapsable muscular holding tank for when you squeeze and relax certain muscles it is pushed into the urethra and out the body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
