Answers:
If your diabetes is under control, and if your skin can sense if it is getting too hot from the water, ok!. If you have high blood pressure, you should probably not get in a hot tub because it can elevate blood pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I use a hot tub all the time at the Gym!.!.!. I know how I feel and just watch it!. if you start to get real hot get out then if you want get back in !. I usually sit on the edge for a little while and then get back in!. 10 min!. is about the max!. every half hour!.
or so!. I also use the sauna's but don't stay in them very long maybe 1 to 3 min!.
take care, and learn how your body reacts to what!. The meter is a good way!. When I was first diagnosed I use to do it 4 times a day (dr order) and also when I felt strange just to see what it was!. I found that anything over 180 set me off!. I try to keep it from 80 to 150!. I sure hope this helps

giggle giggle!!! they advise us to NOT use soaking of any sort!!! I cannot see why you can't use the hot tubs if you want to or swim or use a spa!!

Just be very careful if you have any numb spots on footsies to not step on a pebble or anything that would bruise your feet!! Dry your toes very well and use baby powder afterwards so they are completely dry!. Meaning: don't take a chance on getting any infections between toes!!

since you are newly diagnosed here is a freeby!! any little owee even a hangnail needs to go to the doctor immediately!!! Infections are not nice and can be fatal!!! hard to clear in diabetics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It all depends on your cardiovascular condition!. Give your doc a call and see what he thinks!. As long as your blood pressure, heart rate, and general cardiac health are good, he'll give you the thumbs up!. If you do use one, just make sure to take frequent breaks by lifting yourself out of the water and cooling off every 5-7 minutes!.!.!.everyone should do that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should be okay, just be aware that some hot tubs are set at a very high temp!. You shouldn't stay in for more than about 10 mins if the temp!. is set on like 104 degrees!. And always get out if you feel faint or dizzy!. Have fun on your vacation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am also a type 2 diabetic and am in my 7th year as such!.

Hot tubs are said to perhaps have a good effect on your blood glucose control and a good effect on blood pressure!.

One word of caution for you though is that because you a diabetic, your immunity is now 'challenged', that is - you likely won't enjoy the kind of resistence to infections or colds that you may have had before!. I have a hot tub at my own home and I keep it meticulouly!. It is always PH neutral and the water is clear and clean, replaced about every 2 monrths with a thourough cleaning being done between water changes, as well as filters!. Despite these efforts, I can no longer use the hot tub because I break out in a 'Hot tub' rash every time!. You may be suceptable to this yourself, and if so, don't experiment with a hot tub or public pools!.

You'll only regret it if you do!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
