Please talk to your doctor about this!. You can certainly ask about the cream that's been recommended but you shouldn't use anything pre or post op that your doctor hasn't approved first!. By the way, a simple ice pack wrapped in a towel for the first day or so and then warm compresses are sometimes the absolute best thing you can do for yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
the other answerer is right arnica is the best it is a natural remedy, either as tablets or cream - ask in yr local pharmacy for advice!. also taking zinc and vit c can help with healing!. if u want a cream and something medical rather than natural theres a cream called hirudoid which is also available in yr pharmacy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
After an operation - I'd highly recommend letting it go down natually, without using any creams!.You don't want to aggrivate the wound, and trying to reduce the swelling without letting it do it in its own time, may cause the stitches to pull/tear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Arnica cream on the surrounding tissue but NOT on the wound itself!. You can also take an oral supplement - ask your local health food/Boots/Pharmacist!. Otherwise, gentle exercise of the affected area and alternating warm/cool compresses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm not sure about swelling but Arnica cream is great for bruising!. I'm not sure if that is how you spell it - could be Arnica/Arneca/ArrnacaWww@Answer-Health@Com
