There are many types of pneumonia!. There is bacterial pneumonia and that is from a bacteria, usually not airborne I don't think!. A person can get a pneumonia called aspiration pneumonia if they inhale food or liquids into their lungs (usually people with swallowing problems are the ones who get this-like the elderly for instance)!. Then there is viral, and it can be airborne or contracted by being coughed on, touching something that has been coughed on and putting your hand to your mouth, etc, just like any virus!. There is a pneumonia that only AIDS sufferers get!. You should find out what kind of pneumonia it is you are inquiring about and then go to Web MD or something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
