I'm a nurse!. There are lots of reasons for a high pulse or fast heart beat (tacchycardia)!. Your best bet would be to see your primary care physician!. I cannot legally diagnose, but some ideas are were you running through the store prior to taking the test!? Could you have been drinking an energy drink or a lot of caffeine!? Are you taking any medicines that raise pulse such as some asthma meds like albuterol!? While 117 would be a high 'resting' pulse, it would not be too high if you had been running around the store!. Have you ever had a high pulse before!? Also, if you don't get any exercise, it takes much longer for your pulse to recover after activity than it does for a physically "fit" person!. Good luck Sweetie, and go see your Doc!Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are contributing factors that increase the BP, such as heredity, smoking, alcohol, clogged arteries, eating too much salt, obesity, and stress!. High blood pressure effects men and women of all races!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your bp doen't sound to out of whack but pulse does!. Anxiety can cause it but you need to talk to your doc about!. You might experience "white coat" symptoms when you see your doc, so keep that in mind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
