i just got my last one on monday, and honestly its really painful!. the first time i got it, i wasnt expecting the pain so i eventually cried afterward!. the second time it was painful but it wasnt for very long!. after i got the shot monday, it was the worst!. its still hard and swollen and very sore where they gave me the shot and its making me very sick!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's painful, but probably less painful than having a baby, a broken leg or even a bad fall off a bicycle!.

I recommend the arm, if only because you will be more comfortable for the ride home, and at meals that day!.

Tips for less painful shots:
1 - Make sure you have breakfast that day (shots, fainting and skipping breakfast go together)
2 - Take a couple of ibuprophen before you go!.
3 - Bring a ziplock baggie of crushed ice!.
4 - Don't tense your muscles!. Let your arm dangle loosely, or flop it onto the support!.
5 - Don't hyperventilate !.!.!. it makes you more sensitive to pain
6 - Right after the shot, massage the area and then hold the ice on it for about 5 minutes!. Put the ice on and off ever 5 minutes or so!.
7 - If your arm is sore and achy later, take more ibuprophen and try a heating pad!.

The ache and swelling is a sign that your immune system has spotted the virus antigens and is starting the antibody factory !.!.!. it's an unavoidable part of having an immune system that's working!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok it is a set of 3 shots!. i would not think it is any worse then just any ordinary shot!. you get it in the arm!. i am thinking about getting it an i think i am!. it will help you in the future!. i am afraid of shots too but i am always around needles either getting blood drawn or iv's put in!. it cant be any worse then the m!.m!.r!. shot which that hurts really bad but it only hurts for a few sec and goes away so i think that you are being a baby just get it done and stop fussing over it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I absolutely HATE shots, but trust me, Gardasil is worth it!. It's one less STD that you have to worry about, and if you're sexually active and a bump happens to appear down there, knowing that it's not HPV (i!.e!., it probably won't turn into cancer) is incredibly reassuring!. It really does not hurt too badly, I promise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It really depends on your pain threshold, but I would have to say Gardasil probably hurt more than my last tetanus shot!. It burned when I got it (it's in the arm) and it felt like someone had punched my arm really hard (this lasted a few days)!. Even though it hurts, I'd rather take a few days of arm pain if it could possibly prevent me from getting cervical cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't get the gardasil shot!. there are so many negative after effects that can go wrong!.!. just please, don't have sex!. make the boy get tested instead!. i read a story about three girls who got the shot- one of them died, one of them had their private area turn purple and these bubbling growths grew on her skin and thighs, and the other one had problems with always fainting and feeling terribly sick!. it's not safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's 3 shots in all and you get them every 3-4 months!. I'm due for my third one this month!. I hate needles and shots and EVERYTHING but it's good to get!. It does hurt, like for about 5 minutes afterwards it feels like you got punched in the arm but other than that it's fine!. Just get it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
