Question: Do you agree this was rude!?
I know I'm not going to like some of your answers but here goes!.!.After dinner at a restaurant last night,I go outside to have a cigarrette (we have a smoking ban)Another man was already out there so we were making small talk and this woman and her 2 girls come around the corner, they're still very far away when they all cover there nose and mouth to walk past us!.(making it very obvious they dissaproved!.) I commented to the man that that was rude,she comes flying back out the door and says my daughter has asthma and she can't breath it !.I asked do YOU have asthma too!?She says well you shouldn't be smoking!I returned with well you're too fat and you need to get the salad!.I'm tired of being treated like an ogre because i smoke a cigarrette!. I'm outside for God sakes what else do these poeple want!.!?Obesity is much more prevalent and also the #1 killer in the united staes and causes mors health problems and costs more to the united states with the heart attacks,diabetes,blood pressure,etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Also, those anti-smoking nazis seem to conveniently forget that their cars/suvs cough out more pollution and damage the environment more than smokers!. Also, alcohol kills people too, but you don't hear anything about that!.

But you were right in thinking it was rude of her to say to a complete stranger that 'you should stop smoking', it's up to you whether you smoke or not!.!.!. Yes, you were rude and so was she!. I have know many people who have died to to smoking related illness!. I know that overweight will cause death as well but not as much as smoking will!. I knew 2 Ladies who died from lung cancer from second hand smoke because the no good husbands would not quit smoking around them after the were diagnosed with lung cancer!. One of these ladies never smoked a day in her life!. Once I was standing on the sidewalk waiting to cross the street and a car passed by me the people in the car were smoking, they had their windows up yet I could smell the cigarette smoke as they drove past!. Second hand cigarette smoke has always taken my breath away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

For years and years *some* smokers felt it their right to polute the air we breathe!.
I would come home from my DJ/KJ job and my Van would smell like smoke (from my equipment being in the smoke then being transported in my van) - My clothes would wreek of CIGARRETS!.!.!. and my hair - and I would at 3AM have to take a SHOWER as not to offend the young lady already sleeping in the bed next to me!.
If you pick up a newspaper dated 1960 or later - the effects of smoking IS harmful!. I don't know if I believe the 2nd hand smoke studies!.!.!. but forget about them!.
Smoking IS stupid!.
The fact that you're ADDICTED - doesn't make it any LESS stupid!. And YOU are a bit MORE STUPID than most - for 1) having a lung problem to start with!.!.!. then ADVERTISING how more stupid then the average bloke you are!.

Next time, don't get so aggressive!. While she may've been fat and had no reason to act that way, if you acted like you didn't care that she yelled at you, she probably would've stopped!. While smoking is bad, it's not like there were 500 people outside smoking so much that her child could've had an asthma attack!. But being outside is the only thing you could've done!. Yes, it can be annoying to pass people smoking outside, but once the person gets into the restaurant/whatever it is they're usually fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I agree!. People seem to think that you are the worst person in the world if you smoke!. If you do it away from people, then you are only harming yourself!. As you said, people harm themselves everyday, but aren't criticized as much as smokers!. A guy commented to me that I was hurting my children by smoking (even though I don't even smoke around them)!. I am not normally a rude person, but his seven year old son was about 60 pounds overweight, and I told him he was hurting his children by feeding them too much!. It really made me mad because this guy didn't even know me!. Also, I have a friend who is constantly degrading me for smoking, but she is a speed demon!. She has one speed which is 80 (and this is not an exaggerated!)!. I told her that her habit was just as dangerous, and she was going to end up killing herself and others if she didn't learn how to drive correctly (she has already had five wrecks which were all her fault)!. Truthfully, yes, I wish I had never started smoking, but people don't realize that it is very hard to quit!. I started at 16 because I was young and dumb!. I have tried to quit smoking and have tried every available resource!. However, others don't have to act like I am a bad person just because of it!. It is usually those with worse habits that ridicule it so I try to ignore it whenever possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, I have to say that it is irritating when smokers stand right in front of the door and you HAVE to go by them just to get into a building!. If you were doing such, then I agree with her!. Cigarette smoke makes me hack and cough and sneeze and it's of litlte help that someone is outside when they are right in the path that I have to take to enter a building!. Oh the comment I hear way too much!. Blame asthma on the child for smokers!. Yes I think that we non smokers are inconsiderate of smokers but honestly if its outside and your to the side then there is no reason why she couldn't walk around!. I could see if your inside but outside come on theres how much fresh hair!. We shouldn't have the right to control where people smoke anyway!. I am a smoker and a mother of a child with restrictive lung disease!. She only has to smell smoke and have a asthma atack it does not matter if it is one person smoking or 100!. Smoke is smoke!. I get very angery when I go to a restraunt or store and there are people standing at the door and I have no choice but to smother her and quickly get her past the smoke!.!.!.a ban is in place for the protection of the people who do not want to or can not stand the smoke!. I do not see why if peopel make a choice to smoke they feel the need to make a choice for others as well!.

I agree with you COMPLETELY!! It isn't anyone elses buisness whether you smoke or not!. Anyone who smokes already has to go outside and in the winter when its cold sucks even more!. When I see someone coughing I dont scream "Oh my god stay away from me I dont want to get infected with some disease!" Its just not polite!. People can say what they want to about smoking but the truth is smoking isn't completely harmful!. There are people 70-80 years old STILL SMOKING! while i can appreciate that this annoys you, the smell of cigarrette smoke to people who dont smoke is truelly repugnent!. i used to smoke, and while i obviuosly knew it smelled, i neverrealised how badly until i stopped smoking!. it makes me heave when im going onto or coming out of a resturaunt and i get a mouthful of someome eleses smoke!. it is entirely up to you whether you smoke or not but that why should other people have to suffer because of it!? i hear what you are saying about the obesity thing, but this woman wasnt forcing you to eat the food she eats was she!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
