Answers:
the first two weeks he will have physical withdrawals from quitting ( at least two weeks, maybe a little more) after that, you have to get past the psychological withdrawal which can last a very long time and this is in some cases the hardest part!. The best thing to do is not talk about it because it just puts the focus on cigarettes even if it's positive it becomes a trigger for him and right now, it's the first and foremost thing on his mind!. Nicotine addiction is a really nasty thing to get over and the success rate isn't very high!. He will be grumpy and moody for a while!. Best thing to do is support him in any way he wants you to, but don't talk about cigs too much because it will only remind him of what he's missing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been smoke free for 2 years, but I was diagnosed with COPD and scarring of the lungs 6 months ago!. The hardest part is over!. He will be moody for awhile!. Have him continue with patches, they help!. Keep up the praising!. I believe that quitting cold turkey is the best!. I smoked for 28 years, and I think I tried everything in the book to stop!. It will get better, he will see!. Stay away from people who smoke!Www@Answer-Health@Com

reminding him he doesn't smoke!. I think you should just leave me alone about it!. The more you talk about the more hell want to say **** this and light a cigg!. ya know!? Although you can always go out somewhere nice and relaxing enough so he can calm down and be less tensed without needing a cigarette!. Maybe a massage or something!. That really might work hmm!.!.

As a former smoker I say just give him space!.It is a very hard time and sometimes we can hurt peoples feelings without meaning to!.Just tell him you are there if he needs you and give him some room!.Oh,and the patch will only make it harder in the long run-I went cold turkey and have been smoke free for two plus years!.GOD-blessWww@Answer-Health@Com

Withdrawal happens when your body is being detoxed as with him quiting!. Let him know how proud you are and leave it at that!. Don't remind him that he's quit all the time!.!. but do let him know that he need to take one day at a time!. His withdrawal should be over in about 2-4 weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
