This happens to my brother too and he buys special ear plugs to prevent this!. You wear them on the plane and I think you put them in before taking off!. I believe he buys them at the airport but I'm not sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pinch your nose and push a bit through your nose with your breath (over and over if needed) to add pressure to your ear canals as you descend into thicker and higher-pressured air!.

Most importantly, be sure to yawn, swallow or snort a sharp inward breath through your nose really hard (some people can do this, others can't) *frequently* (like, every 5 seconds) as you climb, so your ear canals get a chance to get *rid* of the extra pressure inside the ears that comes from decreased cabin pressure!.

Combine all of these and you'll at least be free of pain, but unfortunately, some people are just *never* entiely comfortable with rapid pressure changes!.

Almost every flight attendant can tell you other things that might help!.!.!. don't be afraid to ask them for help: they just might have the trick that works best for *you*!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

you know how when you were little and you'd push your cheeks out and then smash em and you'd blow out all the air and make a funny noise!? lol!. {I hope other children did this, lol}

Well, push your cheeks out like that while pinching your nose {like you've smelled something bad} and that adds pressure to your ears and will eventually make them pop!.

try repeatedly if it doesnt work the first time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
