Answers:
yes once you catch herpes its for life!. If he does have it, you wont be able to see it b/c sometimes there is no outbreak but he can still shed the virus and not have any symptoms!. Even if he wears a condom, he can still give it to you if his lesions are located near the base of the penis or scrotal area while you have intercourse!. If he stated he had it before, he has it for life!. The only way you wont catch it is if he is honest and tells you when he feels a prodome coming!. A prodome is a sensaton or tingling or pain that often comes just before a breakout just like when people get cold sores on their mouth!. They will feel the swelling, tingling, or itchiness before the sores break out!. Sometimes and most of the time, the sores wont break out if he is taking Valtres or Acyclovir but he can still shed the virus and you have to refrain from any sexual activity!. I have it myself so im talking from experience!. Ive been with my bf now for 1!.5 years and he hasnt gotten it yet b/c i take suprressive medication for it called Valtrex!. Its expensive but helps to suppress or spread the disease!. Its not 100% affective but it does help from breaking out!. Im also honest with him and tell him when i think something is ging to come on and we just wait a while before we have sex!. We have never used condoms either!. Honesty is the key!. He can still catch it though and he is aware and taking risks!. Herpes also comes on when the person is stressed!. So if your bf gets stressed over something or gets really sick, the infection or the disease seems to come on quicker!.

Also, if a person has herpes, they can catch HIV alot faster b/c for some reason they say that the virus helps the HIV get into your system faster!. So many people with HIV often have herpes as well!. You can also get oral herpes if he has anything on his penis at the time and vice versa!. YOu can also get genital herpes from a person who has oral herpes!. The main thing is communication with herpes!. The first outbreak is the worst!! It hurts like hell and you cant even walk bc of the pain!. But after the first breakout, its not that bad anymore and the symptoms are very minor!. I had one majore breakout five years ago that hurt like hell and i had blisters all over my vagina!! It was horrible and gross!! I was very angry b/c the guy i was with, never told me!! After it went away, ive never had that kind of outburst again!. I get swelling, itchiness, redness and sometimes one little sore but it goes away in 1-2 days at most!. Now that i take Valtres i hardly ever break out!. If you can prevent from getting it, try b/c its a pain in the *** to get and many people are hesitant to date others with STD's!. Plus, if you want to have kids, Herpes is very dangerous to the baby if you catch it while you are pregnant!. So make sure you are on the pill before you have sex with him!. You wouldnt want to get pregnant and catch herpes too!.

If you do decide to have sex with him, always try to look at his penis and if you see any pimple or small red lesion or something thats there, its the virus!. He will have to put on a condom!. My ex bf who gave me the disease, never had any symptoms!. But i remember he had this little tiny red pimple on his penis that didnt look gross or anything and he kept saying it ws nothing!. So be careful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can absolutely still get herpes even if the other person isn't having a break out!. Be careful!. If you really like this person, he can start taking valtrex which lessons the chances of him passing it to you!. But even if he takes valtrex and even if you use condoms, you can still get herpes!. And once you have it, you have it forever!. Be careful!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Herpes can be spread at anytime unfortunately!. You never want to have sex with anyone that has an outbreak because you will catch it from them!. I dont know the actual stats on this, but you only have a small chance of catching herpes while it is dormant, but there is a chance!. If you are going to have sex with him make sure he uses protection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think u can spread it at anytime!.!. but its higly likely when there is an outbreak!.!. if u spreaded it make them take a test!.!.!.!. say we should test together

or if u are scared just go take a test!.!.!. its better to be healthy about it and a little embaressed then be unhealthyWww@Answer-Health@Com

My advice is for both of you to get tested together!. I would not take his word for it!. Because once you get herpes, you have it for life!. The same goes for any virusWww@Answer-Health@Com

Have it for life!?

What you are thinking of is the coldsore infection on your lips once you get that the germs are in your body forever!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES its true that once u have herpes u WILL have it for life!. its treatable but currentl NOT currable!. if it still in their system then YES u can still get herpes from them!.
people with hepes are LESS contagious when they don't have out breaks, chances of getting herpes when its dormant is less then 10% and further reduced if they are suppressive medication!. they are VERY contagious if they have symtoms of an out break or a full ou break, chances of gettin herpes when they have an out break is pretty much 100%!. but there is still a SMALL chance of herpes being passed in between out breaks!.
if u really like this guy enough to look past him having herpes or an std then still continue with the relationship!. if there are trust issues between u then u need to seriously talk bout this with your partner and tell him to give u the truth and if u can't trust him then tell him!. get tested for stds and herpes if your worried and he should get tested again for stds and herpes as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
