Icing a boil is not a good idea!. You should apply a hot compress that brings the infection to the surface of the skin!. Once the pus is at the surface, your doctor can lance it to release the toxic bacteria!. Applying ice will further clog the pore & cause more pain!. Plus it complicates the situation in actually relieving the infection by freezing it within the pore!.
