Question: Male genetical warts!?
This is going to sound likeareally stupid question, but here goes!. I have vaginal warts and have been having unprotected sex with myhusband he was fully aware of the risks involved!. He is now saying he has a bite sized lump on his penis which is purple around the edge!. I was just wondering if anyone could clarify this is a sign of the wart virus!?

There is more general information on HPV at http://www!.smart2ask!.org/popups/HPV!.htm

At the bottom of that page is a link to *EXPLICIT* photos of genital warts!. BTW, the strains of HPV that cause cervical cancer (in RARE cases penile cancer can also occur) are not the same ones that cause genital warts!. However, you can get both- about 30 types are sexually transmitted- so you should have regular Pap tests too, including anal Paps if you engage in anal intercourse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A sexually transmitted disease or STD, genital warts are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus - HPV, and it is highly contagious!. A person can only get the virus from another affected person through regular, anal or oral sex!. No the disease does not spread from sharing the bed or from the toilet seat as some people do believe!. But nevertheless, HPV infections are quite common and do affect both men and women, but it has been seen that the symptoms of genital warts are not as obvious in men as they are in women!. In men the symptoms (they may appear in clusters and the growths resemble a cauliflower) are seen on the penis, in the buttocks and the anus, in the urethra and even on the inside of the thighs!. Sometimes genital warts are also seen on the facial region, but these are rarer!.

He probably has the HPV virus (which a lot of men carry without knowing) and passed it on to you!. You both need to get treated at a GUM clinic for this!.
Warts are really common and are caused by the HPV virus!. Men can't do anything about being carriers, its just one of those things!.
You can alsoc arry the virus but never get warts but if he has passed the virus to you and you developed warts, he probably contracted the warts from you as you were untreated - if that makes sense!

They are easily treated and there is no danger from having genital warts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not a stupid question at all! genital warts are most commonly caused by HPV (human papilloma virus)!. Unfortunately for us ladies, males can carry it but never show symptoms for it, and there is NO way to test for it in males!. So it's likely that you gave it to him, but he may have already had it!!. The worst symptom he will ever have is the warts, you unfortunately are at severe risk for cervical cancer!!!

and yes, that sounds like a wart, good idea to get it checked!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think this could be, yes!.
I advise like you say to book an appointment with the GUM clinic just to get it checked!.

How could you be so silly!.!. having sex knowing full well you have the STD!. Its common sense not to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if it stays the same size for 2 days then it is a wart if it goes down in those days it has either died or just gone down but going to a doctor is a goodidea!.
