Heart surgery has come a very long way, and is not considered life threatening, any more than any other major surgery!.
I have a pacemaker and had quadruple bypass surgery and two stints!. I came through all of these really well!. It was certainly better than the alternative!. There's chances people take in every surgery!. In my case, I had no choice!. It's just one of those things that you go into with a positive attitude and keep that attitude every day of your life!.
