Answers:
u must have a stong immune system if u have never had an out break!. this is whats called a carrier!. a person who has little to no symptoms or out breaks of herpes!. but 80% of the population has cold sores (oral herpes) so they are kind of common to have, even i have them!.
there is less then a 10% chance that u will pass herpes onto your boyfriend when u don't have out breaks!. but who knows he could possibly already have herpes, which could explain why he hasn't gotten herpes yet!. he could be a carrier like u!. as well he may eventually end up getting herpes if u are not taking any suppressive medication or are using some kind of creams to heal cold sores if u break out!.
once the virus is in your system it will be with u for life!. the sevarity of out breaks will lesson over time but that doesn't mean that the virus gets any weaker, its just in a dormant state!.
u dont have to break up over this!. but he should really be tested for herpes to know for sure if he has them or not!. std tests don't usually cover herpes so he has to ask for that one to be done!. if u ever have an out break or symptoms of one then do not give oral sex to your boyfriend!.
i got herpes from oral sex with my boyfriend who has cold sores, so its possible to spread cold sores to the genitals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

80% of the population has oral herpes!.

And I'm sure your boyfriend is find, as long as you didn't go down on him when you were having an outbreak!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is true that one can acquire genital herpes via oral sex with someone who has HSV 1, but I'm pretty sure that's only when there is a cold sore present!. The fact that you haven't had an outbreak (at least not a noticeable one) for that long is probably why he hasn't contracted it!.

Therefore, I would keep a close eye on your oral health, to see if any cold sores are present!. Of course, there are safety precautions available, including dental dams and non-microwavable saran wrap that will prevent transmission during oral sex!. But I would talk to a doctor to determine precisely what the risks are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, i had this same dilemma two months ago, so i asked my doctor about hsv 1!. She told me that practically almost everybody in this country has it including children! Its very contagious, HOWEVER, its not as bad as genetal herpes and not life threating!. From what the doctor was telling me it sounded like it wasn't a big deal and didn't offer me any medication for it, since it wasn't a threating diesease!. If you're unsure about his status you might want to ask again!. Chances of him having HSV 1 are high since you could have kissed him and passed him the virus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Couples may not realise it but by having oral sex, when one of the partners has a cold sore, they risk transmitting the herpes simplex virus (HSV) to the genital area!. Recent research shows that a significantproportion of genital herpes is caused in this way!. See Liana's story in our shared experience section!.There are two distinct types of herpes simplex virus (HSV)!. The majority of genital herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), which is generally transmitted through vaginal or anal sex!. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is most commonly associated with cold sores (oral herpes) and is usually passed on through kissing!. There is, however, some crossover between the two types of HSV and the areas of the body that they infect!. HSV-2 infection can sometimes lead to cold sores; likewise, HSV-1 is capable of causing genital herpes!.

A number of studies have investigated what proportion of first episodes of genital herpes are caused by HSV-1, and the results ranged from 20% to over 40% of cases!.
