Hi!. I am a former epileptic!. My doctors never found the cause of my seizures, but they started when I was about 2 and due to medication I was seizure free until I was about 12!. At 12, I apparently grew out of the seizures, which can happen from time to time without any known cause!. For me, I was monitored by my doctor closely (so its important to get her a great pediatrician!) I had blood tests regularly, MRI's and CAT Scans!. To this day I still have "abnormal brain activity, " and now I know the signs for something that could induce a seizure!. I had a "freak" seizure when I was 18, and I have felt one come on but not actually come to fruition about 3 months ago!. For me and most epileptics, video games, graphics that have bright flashing lights in a darker room, and sometimes TV can bring on a seizure!. My parents got involved in a support group which helped them deal with it and allowed me to be around kids who had the same problems!. I know I used to take Tegratol, but they may not prescribe it until she has more and it is seen as more than just a seizure!. Talk to your Doctor and please follow up on this!. A site which might be helpful (and the foundation my family used to particpate in) is: http://www!.epilepsyfoundation!.org

Please let me know if you need any more assistance!. I know that it can be scary to see, but I never remembered what happened when I had one!. I hope that is of some comfort to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

She may have epilepsy, she may be a fetal alcohol syndrome baby!. Maybe the mother gave her enough alcohol that it damaged something in her brain!. There are a ton of things that could cause this!. Get her to a neurologist as soon as you can!. A regular doctor knows nothing about this stuff!. These days, most of them don't know anything anyway!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Febrile seizures occur in children 5 and younger and they generally outgrow them!. Consult with her pediatrician as to why her temperature elevates!. It may be related to her previous environment!. There may be nothing to be done except treat the fever until she outgrows this!. If it makes you feel any better, febrile seizures are rarely harmful!. In the meantime, monitor her temperature on a regular basis and intervene when needed to prevent another seizure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
