Question: Thyroid surgery for 15 year old!?
i am 15 years old and the doctor just said i needed to get my thyroid removed because it is getting bigger!. they might start me during the school year!. so if they do how long do i have to miss school!? a week!? a month!? and does it hurt!?

my neighbor had his thyroid removed and he said it was not bad at all!. Why are you having it removed in the first place!? How large is it, or is it noticeable!? Are you on thyroid medication!.!.!.or are you hypo or hyperactive thyroid!? I have hypothyroidism and my thyroid is enlarged also but my doc has not recommended it be removed as of yet!.
Try not to get depressed over the surgery!.!.!.when I thought mine needed to be removed my neighbor said it was an easy surgery!.!.!. I think he said he was up and around the next day after surgery!. Let me know why the doc wants to remove it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
