Only a physician and diagnostic testing can tell you what it really is, but certainly one thing to consider is a pulmonary embolism (PE), or a clot to the lungs!. Birth control pills greatly increase your risk for PE, so it's seen somewhat frequently in young women!. The main thing that would make someone consider this is that you have increased pain with inspiration!. Honestly, you're better off going to your local emergency room than waiting until the morning because your doctor will almost certainly refer you for radiology testing, at least an X-ray and maybe even a CT scan!. You can get it all done in one shot with a trip to the ER!.

Might they just tell you it's musculosketal and follow up with your doctor!? It's a good possibility, so it's up to you to decide your course of action!.

Since it worsens with a deep breath, it's probably not your heart--but that doesn't mean it's not serious!. I'm not a medical person, so take this with some well-earned doubt, but it sounds like it could be lung-related, like pleurisy, or even a cracked rib!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
