Yes, BUT prednisone is a drug that should be taken strictly as prescribed!. If you have spare prednisone lying around your house, you did not take the previous batch as directed!. In an emergency allergic reaction, go to an emergency department and they'll probably give you intravenous solu-medrol, diphenhydramine (Benadryl) and sometimes famotidine (Pepcid)!. If you have been prescribed prednisone for something like poison ivy, Benadryl will probably not offer much more relief!.
