Question: How do I test for ketones!?
my blood sugar was skyrocketing today, I think stress and poor breakfast choice!. My meter flashed to check ketones I didn't know how and I wasn't able to contact anyone or look online!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to your local pharmacy, get some ketone test strips, usually kept by the blood test strips, and go home and either pee into a cup and dip it, or onto the strip, wait a certain amount of time (the ketone strip box will tell you how long) then compare it to the color chart!. Any pharmacy, any CVS or even VONS with a pharmacy should carry them!. Don't worry too much, drink lots of water to flush the ketones out, and test it as soon as you can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
We get a prescription from the doctor - ketodiastix!.
Not sure if pharmacy with sell it OTC!. Get in touch with your endocrinologist!. If both things don't work, go to the hospital!. The presence of ketones could mean your insulin isn't working and you could be headed for ketoacidosis (diabetic coma)!.
PS- I know you went over 500 mg/dl, I've seen that "check ketones" message too, !.!.!. It's dangerous, don't mess around!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Urine test strips that you can get from your local pharmacy!. It is extremely important to check for ketones!. If present you are encouraged to notify you doctor for further evaluation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You go to the chemist and buy some ketone testing sticks!.

My son uses the test strips that you urinate on/urinate in a cup and dip!.
