Question: Can an EKG detect a heart problem, even if no symptoms are present at the time of testing!?
I am 13 years old, and I was having some chest pains, so I went to a doctor!. He checked it out and then sent me to get an EKG!. I didn't have any pain while they were testing me, so could they be able to tell if something is wrong still!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, there is a way to show it!.

Last year, when I was 15, I had to get an EKG to see what was wrong with my heart, since I went to the hospital since I had a high heart rate (235 BPM according to the monitor that night)!. He was able to detect 1 abnormality to tell that I had an SVT, but I didn't have a high heart rate during the EKG!.

Most likely, if you have something wrong with your heart, it's genetic!. If he finds something bad, he'll sent you to a heart specialist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

EKG'S take a picture of the heart, so if there is an abnormality in the heart rhythm it would see that!. also it is highly unlikely for a 13 year old to have heart problems unless it's congenital, or you are severely obese!.my guess is the pain was probably stress related!. please don't be worried and enjoy your summer!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had an ECG a few months because because i was having palputation and chest pains, however, during the ECG i experienced so palputations and no chest pains and they found nothing wrong but i still suffer from both these problems

i guess its just hard to do a test when your suffering, since most of my problems happen at nightWww@Answer-Health@Com

An EKG is a very precise measurement of the electrical activity of the heart!. Any problem, even slight, will show up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
