I may have contracted HIV...Can People With HIV Live A Long Healthy Normal Life?!

Question: I may have contracted HIV!.!.!.Can People With HIV Live A Long Healthy Normal Life!?!?
I think I have HIV!. It says the symptoms start within a week to 3months, or longer!. 3months ago I had sex without a condom(yes, very stupid and I deserve all the bad criticism) I read the symptoms on HIV and it says bruising very easily, I just noticed a bruise today and I dont usually bruise like that!. Diarrhea lasts more than a week, I also noticed something wasnt right about my bowels lately, extreme fatigue, Im always tired, swollen glands on neck or groin!.!.!.I have swelling in my vagina, and it happened right after my period a couple weeks ago!. Some have told me this is just a yeast infection because I have had itching as well!. Also, my neck has been feeling kind of funny lately!. And I'm getting headaches!. No fevers though!. So, what I'm asking is can someone lead a normal life with HIV,and have a long life too!? Because I think I have it and I still want to lead a normal life and live long!. I'm going to get tested in 2 days!. That's exactly what I get for not practicing safe sex!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, there!.

In my experience, most people who think they may be HIV+ from a possible exposure actually aren't!.

But the stress that comes with believing they are HIV+ is the actual cause of many of the symptoms people experience!. And the symptoms seem to get worse as the stress/anxiety levels increase!.

It's good that you are going to get tested!. It really is the only way to know if you are HIV+!.
And if your symptoms are due to HIV then you will test positive (symptoms, if they appear at all, happen after the testing window period!.)

Some of the symptoms you mentioned are not a part of Acute HIV Disease (1st stage)!.
Fever occurs in almost all cases (96%)

My advice is to get tested immediately!.!.!.!.if you can get in today, I would go!. Not because you are for sure HIV+, but because this seems to be adding a lot of extra stress and that stress can make you feel even more ill!.

And yes, people living with HIV can live a very long time!. While life will be different, it can be as close to normal as you let it!. More doctors appointments, medications (when needed, then for the rest of your life), side effects can be unpleasant!. But with good medical care, a supportive friend/family network, and keeping in generally good health a person with HIV can often live a long and very full life!.

Good luck with the test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They have come a long way with treatment for HIV and I do feel that you can lead a pretty normal life!. If in fact your are positive you will have to start a bunch of meds that you will have to take for the rest of your life!. But, a lot of how your body reacts to stuff is your mental state of mind!. I really hope everything turns out good!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can!. The doctors will put you on medication to prevent the virus from spreading, keep the symptoms at bay, etc!. If caught early the only hinderence it will give you is that you will constantly need to take different meds!. But otherwise you can live on many many years!.
Though it doesn't really sound like HIV!. Looks like there's way too many symptoms for that!. But you can never be sure!. Get it checked out!.

Yes people can live long heathly lives with HIV!.

Its just a virus, there are people who live long and heathly lives with cancer, so HIV is no different!.

Also you shouldn't get tested while you're sick!.

You might get a false positive!. Take the test when you're feeling better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should google it!.

I don't think that the life is completely normal, there are restrictions and precautions, you would feel sick with immune deficiency, and longevity is greatly reduced in nearly all cases!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ur imagination is probably running away with u!.ur symptoms are probably something simple and easily treated!.unless ur partner was an iv drug userand/ or very promiscuous and bisexual,he's probably not infected!.u can get hiv from one encounter-but it is more often the case that it is the result of repeated encounters!.that being said, always be safe in the future!.we see a lot of young people worried almost to death, all sorts of real symptoms, due to other causes, who think they have hiv!.dont panic!.odds are,u dont!.be safe in the future, but dont panic untill u kno u actually have the disease-this goes for cancer biopsies as well!.no use panicking untill u kn for sure u have something, all the rest is worry that u may not need to do!.stay calm over next two days!.most of the people who think they have it,dont!.those who do,share needles, other hi risk behaviour!.chances are,ur ok!.if not, yes, the drugs today are better than they used to be!.in many cases,it is not an immediate death threat but more a chronic illness 15 ,20 years or even more for some!.still, not all respond to the drugs as well,u still want to prevent, not treat!.if u do have it,tho,ur dr will do ur best to help u live and stay well as long as possible!.u probably will be ok,go to the movies, distract urself for the next few days!.good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can lead a normal life, and live longer than they did in the past with hiv!. But one act still leaves a small chance, even if he did have hiv, he would have had to have the hiv in his semen at the time of ejacutation(hiv travels through the body) and it would of had to got into your blood stream!. and you don't even know if he has hiv, so learn from this, and play it safe, and get tested to know the facts, good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can still have a long and healthy life with HIV!. Whent he virus was first discovered in the early 80s, scientists knew nothing about it so people died very quickly from it!. However, treatment for HIV has had many breakthroughs and advances!. There are some great anti-viral drugs out that that can seriously prolong the advancement of AIDS!.

I highly recommend you see a doctor as soon as possible and get tested!. Keep in mind that it might take up to 6 months after the infection for the test to show a positive result if you are positive!. You want to get tested so if you are positive, you can start treatment as soon as possible!. The earlier you start treatment, the longer you have before you develop AIDS!. The anti-viral treatmeants can stop AIDS from developing for many many yeas, meaning you will have many healthy years to live without having AIDS!.

Good luck! HIV isn't the death sentence that it used to be back in the 80s!. You will still be able to live a healthy and fulfilling life!. I wish you the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com
