It's not the end of the world! :) Sure, the road is going to be a little tough and it's kinda scary at first, but you'll get used to it, i promise! My boyfriend was diagnosed as Type 1 when he was about 12, and he's 19 now! He goes out and does things everyone else does, and no one really minds that he checks his sugars or anything before and after each meal! People will understand if you tell them!. Trust me :) I'm 19 and was diagnosed as type 2 almost 9 months ago!. You should probably have one of your parents find another kid about your age that has been diagnosed, too! it'll make things alot easier!. I babysit two kids who are type ones and have been since they were three!. They're 5 and 7 now, so Hang in there!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your feelings at the moment are completely normal!. I felt exactly the same way (I was diagnosed at 16 years and have now had it for 5 years)!. You feel like you're completely alone and that no one else understands what you're going through!. But trust me, you will meet other people during your life that have it and are living normal lives!.

Talk to your family and your diabetes educator about how you feel and they may be able to refer you to a psychologist who will give you some coping strategies!.

But its not the end of the world, just something that you learn to live with!. Please get some help as sometimes these feelings don't just go away on their own!. You need your family, friends and healthcare worker's support!.

Good luck!! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have 2 children who are type 1 diabetic!. It isn't the end of the world but a very full-on time for you!.

There will be a diabetes association in your state, get in touch with them and ask if they have any youth groups or camps!. My children went to the camps and made friends!.

There is also the Juvenile Diabetes Association which is world wide and getting in touch with them will put you in touch with local people in your area who have children your age with diabetes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aw!! I feel so bad for you! I don't have diabetes but I know a lot of people who do!. I am sure this is extremely hard for you right now especially at a young age!.!.!. just try and get through it and maybe get a physcologist if you think it might work!! Or you could try talking to your parents or a really close friend!. OR!.!.!. you could join a group and talk about your personal issue with other children your age who are going through what you are going through and I am sure you will quickly click with them!! I hope everything works out for you, and don't let anything stop you from living life!! Go for it! I wish you the best of luck!!!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Diabetes is hard at any age but, being a teenager makes it a different problem!. THIS IS something that you can learn to live with!. You control it, it does not control you!. listen to your doctor!.take control by learing about food to start with!. this will help you more than you know!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
