When I had the first major tach, it took over three hours for my heart rate to return to normal, but now it only takes a few minutes!. Answers:
You should visit a cardiologist, and don't take this problem lightly!. Sinus tachycardia is when your heart rate goes above 100!. Supra Ventricular Tachycardia is when your heart rate goes above 150 and there are many causes for this!.
Hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis)
Heart failure
Thyroid disease
Chronic lung disease
Pneumonia
Pulmonary emboli, or blood clots migrating into the lung arteries from elsewhere in the body
Pericarditis
Certain drugs and social habits
Cocaine abuse
Alcohol abuse
Smoking
Drinking too much caffeine in coffee, tea, or soft drinks
Emotional stressWww@Answer-Health@Com

Was it sinus tach or supraventricular tachycardia!. It is easy to get the two confused!. You can have a pulse of 150 and still be just sinus tach but your heartrate has to be atleast 150 to be SVT!.
SVT can often be corrected on its own, but somtimes it requires medicine!. If your heartrate is only 110, you don't need to go to the hospital!. If it goes back up around 150 or more, you need to be seen!. Alot of people have P-SVT, which is SVT that comes and goes away on its own!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
