How can I find out how many doses of a vaccine are in a certain Lot #? Do they p!

Question: How can I find out how many doses of a vaccine are in a certain Lot #!? Do they publish this info!?
Answers:
The number of doses of vaccine in a lot varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and batch to batch!. The FDA and industry defines lot numbers based on a drug manufactured under the same conditions!. This helps track problems with batches and conditions and can potentially limit losses in the event of a problem!.

Example: 100L of vaccine is mixed in a vessel!. (100L is the maximum batch size validated for this manufacturer for quality control purposes!.) After filling 60L of vaccine into dosing containers, a mechanical issue occurs with the aseptic filling line!. The lines are purged and quality control was maintained for the remaining 35L!. While the issue is corrected, the remaining 35L is filled on another manufacturing line!. In this case, the original 100L would have two lot numbers!.

Lets say the nitrogen blanket for the vaccine failed at 60L, then there is a good chance that only 60L of vaccine doses would make up that lot!.

The FDA does not publish this information anywhere, but you can contact the FDA to request it!.

I hope this answers your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
