I need help with vaginal itching, saw doctor, didn't help?!

Question: I need help with vaginal itching, saw doctor, didn't help!?
I have had a consistent vaginal itch for awhile!. There is some white discharge!. I went to a doctor, she said I showed some of the yeast bacteria, but too much of the good bacteria you're supposed to have!. She prescribed me an oral yeast infection medicine, the kind you only take one of!. She told me also to take warm baths, with baking soda!. However, that was a week ago and I'm showing no improvement!. What should I do, and what could be going on!? The itch is driving me crazy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be an irritant that is causing your itching!? Are you wearing cotton underwear or washing your underwear in harsh detergents!? I wash all my undies (bras included) in Cheer Free n Gentle, or Dreft but any detergent without dyes and perfumes is acceptable!.

Are you washing yourself with soap!? The vagina self-cleanses but if you do decide to wash, use a gentle soap like Ivory or Dove Unscented and only wash the external vulvae!.

Believe it or not, something that you are eating could also be causing this!. Is your diet high in refined sugars!? Cutting out a lot of sugars (even tho I still do enjoy chocolate or cake on occasion) helped me greatly!. Also, drinking LOTS of water helped me tons b/c itching can come from down there being a little "dry" from lack of lubrication!.

I have a question though!. What medication did that doc give you that you only have to take once!? If it's Diflucan (or Fluconazole), you take two pills in a three day span!. It could be that your infection isn't gone!.

Edit: I can't believe they didn't give you nystatin triamcinolone cream!!! That helps greatly with the itching!. For relief now, apply PLAIN yoghurt to the area (you can put it in a tampon applicator and freeze it and it feels so good against that burning itch) or go and buy a monistat cream and apply it to the vulva!.

I really hope you feel better!. I know how much this sucks for you right now!.

Consider:
* Chemical irritants -- such as detergents, fabric softeners, feminine sprays, ointments, creams, douches, and contraceptive foams or jellies!.
* Vaginal yeast infection -- often includes a discharge that is white and curd-like!. Vaginal yeast infections can be brought on by antibiotics, birth control pills, pregnancy, menstruation, condom use, sexual intercourse, diabetes, and a weakened immune system!.
* Vaginitis -- inflammation, itching, discharge, and odor caused by other infections (including sexually transmitted diseases)!. Vaginitis in girls before puberty is common!. If a young girl has a sexually transmitted vaginal infection, however, sexual abuse must be considered and addressed!.
* Menopause -- the drop in estrogen causes thinning of the vaginal wall and less lubrication!.
* Stress -- may increase vaginal itching and make you more susceptible to infections!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know if it will work but try wearing cotton underwear, try summer eve's body wash it has mild soap in it!. Another thing some nights let the vaginal area breathe and sleep without undies!. One more thing try monistat creams or even their powders are good and take a bath twice a day not saying that you don't but that might help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
