hi yadal, I've been getting iron infusions for the past 2 yrs!. due to severe anemia myself!. It's really nothing!. I go to my hemotologist's office and sit in an area with a tv, recliner, and a curtain for privacy!.

The RN will start an iv with saline for 15 minutes to make sure things are working!. Then she starts the infusion (you don't feel a thing) which takes around 4-5 hrs!. seeing as it can not go in fast otherwise the body will swell up!.

Once you are done, you get a script to have blood drawn after a week and by then, your iron count will be where it should be!. nothing to be nervous about!. Bring a good book, an ipod, lunch, etc!. and just relax!.

good luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
