My wife is a practicing dentist and has severe organ involved Lupus!. She was diagnosed at age 15!. One of the people in our support group is a pediatrician and has Lupus as well!.

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it!. Sure there may be obstacles and you may have to take a different route but you can get there if you really, really want it!.

Lupus is a part of your life, it isn't your life!. You need to take control of it, not the other way around!. Taking your medications, seeing your doctors regularly and taking care of yourself will give you a leg up in controlling Lupus!.

It won't always be easy but what is easy that is really worth having!?

This is what I'd tell my friend!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wel!.!.!.!.with her condition and how strenuous med school is!.!.!.I dont think its a good option!. cause she'l flunk out if she doesnt finish all her work on time!.!.and with her illness she'll always be tired and be unable to stay up the sleepless nights that med students often have to go through!.!.!.so!.!.!.I m not sure it s good idea!.!.but if that what she wants to do then sure yea!.!.!.let her chase her dreams!. just tell her to inform her lecturers!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First off it is her decision!. I've had Lupus for 5 years and in that time I have had to cut down on my work (nursing)!. 12 hour shifts 3 days in a row is rough on a body even if you do not have lupus!. I am able to work about 25 hrs a week and still be able to function at a sub normal level by taking meds, watching my diet and exercise and most important listening to my body!. She should see if she can "shadow" a doctor and see what the work and lifestyle is like!. If she takes care of her self and discusses with her doctor about her decision of med school he/she could work with her on setting standards of what she should go by so that she won't cause herself to have a flare up and miss class or work!. Med school is very demanding!. She needs to assess her health and see what is expected of her in Med school!. Talk to her and just let her know that you want what is best for her health and happiness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
