Some BP tabs *cause* leg swelling (Amlodipine and Felodipine being the commonest)!. If your GP is not keen on stopping them, at least make sure you are on the lowest dose possible (there is not much difference in effect between the different doses)!. At your age there are several different types of BP tabs that could be used, so I would ask your GP about that too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In most patients with high blood pressure (BP) the approach to treatment is twofold!. If you're overweight then you need to exercise more and lose weight!. At the same time, as your ankles and calves swell, the first medicine for treatment is so-called water pills or diuretics (like Diuril or Lasix) to remove water from the blood circulation; BP tablets never cause water retention!. How much diuretic you need may be more than you are now taking and may well have to be increased!. Of course, there are other high BP medicines which help reduce the swelling ("edema") in your lower legs!. It sounds like you may need another physician who is more understanding and better at treating hypertension!. Meanwhile, whenever you can, try to sleep with a pillow under your ankles or sit with your legs raised to the level of your heart (in private) to reduce swelling!. Be sure to greatly cut back on the use of any sodium salt; put the salt shakers away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I take tablets for high blood pressure, but I also take a water tablet which works with it!. Go back to the doctor, don't just stop taking it, as you may get other problems, you might need a different make of tabletWww@Answer-Health@Com

Several of them can, unfortunately you didn't name yours!
All beta blockersand calcium channel blockers can produce oedema for example!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO!.

But they cause bad spelling, poor punctuation, and the need to text like a 13 year old!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
