Okay, for those Americans who are a little too into themselves to realize that there are other countries aside from the US, and that they might use other units to measure blood glucose!.!. meet mmol/l!. That thing that everyone else in the world save for the US uses!. 8!.9 mmol/l is 160 mg/dl!.

To the poster: your friend is absolutely right!. 8!.9 post-meal implies some impaired glucose tolerance!.!. though ideally, you should be testing two hours after meals!.

In any case, it's a sign that you really need to hit the doctor!. Damage to your body begins at -7!.7-, and it's progressive when you're diabetic!. Getting on a healthy diet and/or medications now can make a huge difference in preventing complications later in life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is 89, not 8!.9
Normal glucose level is 80 to 120!.
When u take food (principal meals) it goes up & returns to baseline(normal level) after 3hrs!.If it remains high even after 3 hrs!. - it implies that u don't produce sufficient insulin to bring it down and u may be a diabetic!.
Don't worry u don't have diabetisWww@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, theres 2 ways to measure the blood sugar!. mg/dl or mmol!. the USA uses mg/dl, the rest of the world uses mmol!. 8!.9mmol=160!.2mg/dl!.

Everyones blood sugar rises (diabetic or not) a little out of the normal range after eating!. 8!.9 three hours after eating is a little high!. It should be back within normal range (4-7mmol) after about 2 hours!. Of course it could depend on what you ate, and how much of it you ate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you means 89 mg/dl not 8!.9, if correct!.!.!.!.you don't have diabetes, but if you test using A1C with the result 8,9 it means you have diabetes!. so make clearly the testing!.!.!.ask to your doctor, more detail visit http://www!.diabetes!.fat-site!.comWww@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with the first person who commented, this sounds like a glycosylated hemoglobin percentage (A1C%)!. A percentage of 8!.9% is high, but make sure this is what you mean before getting scared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
